WHERE DO WE GO FROM HERE? |
For most of us, the many concerns after the September 11 attacks are almost overwhelming. We have now, along with at least one other nation (the United Kingdom), made a strike attack on another nation (Afghanistan). From donating to those with great needs right now to trying to understand how, why and where do we go from here, we all can play an extremely important role. TEEN POWER POLITICS: MAKE YOURSELF HEARD and its toolkit - education, service, advocacy and activism - are never so necessary as now as the voices resounding out from middle school, high school, college and beyond are the voices to be heard.
Take a look at the various resources and suggestions for activism. Think and do not worry if your next step is not huge.... just take the step. That is what we all are doing right now. And... if you know of other resources or have a story to tell, please let me know and they'll go up here and/or in my next newsletter! Unlike a natural disaster, the repercussions from the September 11, 2001 attack on the United States continue so help, positive steps and attentive minds are needed!
FIRST & FOREVER: EDUCATE YOURSELF
Think about what the issues are right now and try to learn as much as possible about each of them. Here are some questions to help you and some sources to investigate. Please use media literacy skills and question EVERYTHING, including the information resources listed here. For you to form your own opinion, many varying points of view are listed.
Ask first: The more you hear, the more you have to think about. Your evolving thoughts are the ones that count.
